Carvers have been shortlisted as one of the three finalists in the Best Community Initiative category of the annual Builders Merchants News awards, for their work with the Wolverhampton marathon events since their resurrection back in 1998. The events have since been renamed the Carver Wolverhampton Marathon Events and have celebrated their 20th event this year.
The Builders Merchants News Awards will be held on Friday 24th November 2017, at the London Hilton, Park Lane, where the winners will be announced to an audience of 600 key industry figures, at one of the year’s most prestigious networking events.
The Awards which are now in their 16th year, are organised by the team behind the Builders’ Merchants News publication, the leading merchant industry magazine read by builders' merchants across the UK and will be hosted by Joanna Lumley.
The Awards charity partners are CRASH; the construction and property industry’s charity for homeless people and Rainy Day Trust; A registered charity that cares for people who have worked within the Home Improvement and Home Enhancement industry.
Henry Carver comments “Carvers are delighted to be nominated for this industry award for our involvement in such a fantastic City events. Since their resurrection they have continued to go from strength to strength and we are very pleased to be associated with such a major sporting event in Wolverhampton. We are incredibly proud of all our supporters, but particularly our staff members who are very generous with their time and input, whilst obviously providing exemplary help and support to people within the local community”.
